The Benincasa farm stretches over about 45 hectares of lands between the municipalities of Bevagna and Gualdo Cattaneo. The prevailing crops are wine and olives trees. All of the land used for the vineyard is situated on the gentle and sunny hills that slope down from Gualdo Cattaneo towards Bevagna, in the middle of the Montefalco production area. Domenico Benincasa must take the merit for creating the first mono-vine vineyard of Sagrantino grapes at the beginning of the 70's. He started from only a few examples remaining from old mixed crops in the area. As evidence of this, the name of Benincasa is the first on the register of Sagrantino producers.

VINCASTRO VINO ROSSO DELL'UMBRIA i.g.t.

A wine obtained from Sangiovese grapes. The grapes harvest is capacity in winery where macerated on the skins for 15 days during which they are carries "rimontaggi" and delestages to extract the greater amount of phenolic substances; after this period the grapes are pressed with the pneumatic press and the wine comes in steel containers in fact this wine does not make wood. It is a wine with a medium body and structure, delicately grassy to the sense of smell, with the sensation of red fruit on the palate. top

ROSSO DI MONTEFALCO d.o.c.

A wine obtained from Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Merlot grapes, using traditional red winemaking; the grapes macerated in winery for 15 days and after to have been pressed, then wine matured for about 12 months in barriques. It s a typical wine of Montefalco zone, it has a good body and structure with sharp red fruit tones and well dosed tannins.
It is suitable for a medium-long maturation.

Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin
A wine obtained exclusively from Sagrantino grapes macerated on the skins with pre-fermentative cold maceration for 3 days and another 12 days of maceration. When the maceration has finished it passes into barriques for a period of about 12 months before final maturation in the bottle. It is an intense ruby in color and it opens to the nose with a definite blackberry sensation. It is extremely full-bodied and structured. It reveals a dry, ample and powerful flavour with an optimal length. Full flavour with an optimal length.
