EITAL CRIANZA 2001 – EITAL (W.S. 87)reviews

This is the first wine from a new Ribera Del Duero bodega, Terra Vitis. Located close to Roa, the heart of this wonderful wine area and the home of the D.O., Terra Vitis is dedicated to making wonderful wines from the area. This first vintage was aged two years in 60% American and 40% French oak barrels before further aging in the bottle. The 2001 vintage in the area yielded dense grape clusters driven by the hot weather and great fruit. This wine has the classical flavor notes of Ribera Del Duero, the chalk, mineral, earth notes that are famous with soft dark, ripe fruit flavors and well balanced tannins. It is simply a cool wine with only 13,000 bottles produced for export to the USA.top

The same wonderful flavors as the Crianza but richer with more density. The best grapes of the harvest were used to make this fabulous wine. Aged for an average of 30 months in 60% American and 40% French oak barrels before further aging in the bottle, it is at the head of the class.top
