This new bodega in the heart of Ribera Del Duero has been established by partners who were previously part of a local COOP. Torrederos Crianza 2000 is their first bottling. Their wine has all of the flavors of the well known area but are matured in a modern style with 60% American and 40% French oak barrels. This treatment gives the traditional Ribera Del Duero flavors of the "terrior", minerals, chalky earth and dark fruits but delivers them in a more creamy, rounded style than traditional Ribera Del Duero wines. This wine has done very well in retail and restaurant businesses. The Torrederos Joven 2003 is a young, exciting wine full of flavor and fruit and priced as a great value.

TORREDEROS JOVEN 2003
This vintage is a wonderful surprise to the palate. As the result of a great harvest in 2003, the 100% tempranillo grapes for this wine were perfect for achieving an excellent, open Ribera Del Duero wine. Full of big fruit with dark cherries and berries it is an awesome ready to drink wine. top |

TORREDEROS CRIANZA 2001 reviews
This 100% tempranillo (W.S. 87) grape wine has the typical flavors of the Ribera Del Duero area, earth, minerals, dark fruit, plums, figs and prunes. However, due to the aging of the wine in 60% American and 40% French oak, the wine arrives on the palate almost creamy. With soft tannins it is a very approachable wine. This is a cool Spanish wine that is distinctive from the clutter of Spanish Crianza wines. top |
